My London trip is just one day a way, and I can hardly wait! As per usual, eating is one of my top priorities, so I’ve been doing some digging on the hot (but still affordable!) restaurants in London these days.
My British gal pal turned me on to a great site –Toptable (www.toptable.co.uk/). It’s similar to Open Table with 2 main differences. First, you submit for a requested time slot, and they get back to you by the next day, so it’s not the immediate gratification of Open Table. But the big perk is that they have a huge number of discount deals available to sign up for ranging from 10 GBP meals to prix fixe options.
I’ll write about where we go once I’m back, but for now here are some of the places that caught my eye during my reading or were recommended by my Londoner friends.
Cinnamon Club – modern, upscale Indian in an old library
Amaya – also modern, upscale Indian
Coccoon – Pan Asian, super hot scene
Baltic – Eastern European, includes vodka bar and live jazz on Sunday nights
St. John – the epicenter of snout to tail cuisine, Chef Fergus Henderson is famous for his ability to use the whole pig in a way that has diners squealing with delight (I couldn’t resist!), also appears to be booked well in advance
Moro – N. African/Spanish
